Nakba: Mapping the paths of Catastrophe
'Nakba: Mapping the paths of Catastrophe’
“It is easy to pick up a pen and create a vision of our lives to the world when in reality the catastrophe of the damage in Gaza is far greater than what our souls can bear. We have experienced trembling hearts, we have heard the songs of screaming children, we have buried our loved ones below the ground in a sheet and walked away wondering when our time will come to say goodbye to this unbearable world. The sound of drones becomes a constant whisper in our ears following us wherever we go. We look ahead and see nothing but smokes from the constant bombardment, when we look behind us, we see our families shivering from the cold, rain and constant hunger. To our sides, we are forever reminded of how we are imprisoned on a land which should have been our safe haven rather than another Nakba. Who will share our story of our small 365 kilometre land where even birds do not have the freedom to leave.” - Farah, Gaza, age 16.
